Auchenflower House Commencing Onsite
After a long gestation the ambitious Agnes St project is about to start on site. The potential of this humble cottage is rediscovered by clearing out a jumble of walls to create three new special rooms, flanked by kitchen and study / sitting areas. Separate to the cottage a new 'tower' structure is to be built at the rear over a pool terrace. Between the 'tower' and the cottage, a sunken courtyard is created around an intimate garden. The combination of the courtyard and tower minimises the effective footprint of the house to maximise the area of garden and landscape. This is contrary to typical extensions in the area which result in large blocky houses with little garden.
