The Frangipani House celebrates a magnificent garden with a modest extension and reworking of an existing humble post war cottage. The new entry and extension create a rear garden court enjoyed by the all the living spaces of the house. A secondary side entry support the home based consultancy that requires independent and discrete access. This secondary entry adds flexibility into the long term use of the house with the pavilion extension able to become an independent granny flat if desired. The new pavilion echoes the roof form of the house as it works to enhance the overall presentation and quality of the modest original fabric.
