The Ferny Hills house project extends the life of a very modest tired post war house to create a functional climatically responsive family home strongly connected to its site. The existing house was raised and stripped of its internal and external lining so as to be properly wrapped and insulated. With the existing house accommodating the kids bedrooms and a second living space, a new lower level was built for the main bedroom and living spaces, along with a deck. In a central courtyard is a pool adjacent to the deck and that is overlooked by the main bedroom and kitchen. This house is on site and almost finished.
