The Cuneate House is a new build on an acreage site in Samford Valley. The cuneate (wedged) shaped form developed as a response to both the pragmatics of the siting, slope, north aspect and available views, along with the site calling for a bold form thats ‘stakes out a patch’ within the landscape. A deliberately reticent facade conceals a lush green central courtyard and rich natural material palette within. Under a singular striking roof form the main bedroom, living spaces and outdoor room take in the bucolic views of the horse paddock and mountain range beyond. Sustainability has been a central driver with the house fabric including hempcrete, plastic free lime render and silicate paint, cork and sustainably harvested timbers. The project is projected to commence in August ’26 and be completed late ’27.
